Photo Competition 2024

Take part in the second SA Wetland Society Photo Competition.

The SA Wetland Society is running its second photographic competition this year. The aim is to generate new and up to date content for our website and branding materials whilst at the same time showcasing your pictures. Your pictures submitted for the competition must be wetland related and in some way showcase wetlands. Please note the following rules when entering this competition.

Contestants must be over the age of 18 and the competition is open to anyone (excluding the current Board of Trustees).
Pictures must be your own work and must showcase wetlands in their composition.
Only original digital pictures will be accepted (No scans will be accepted).
Pictures must be submitted in Jpeg format only and must not be larger than 1920 x 1920 pixels.
Pictures must be renamed to your name e.g. ANOther_001.jpg.
Pictures must be submitted with the following information: Date of picture, location (nearest town or GPS coordinates) and a brief description of the subject.
Only 3 submissions per person will be accepted.
Closing date for submissions is 2pm on Friday 31 January 2025. No late submissions will be considered.
All submissions to be sent to photocomp@sawetlandsociety.org with “Photo Competition 2024” in the subject line. Submissions sent to any other email address will not be considered.
The winners will be announced using various platforms before the end of February 2025.
The judges decision is final and no discussions or correspondence will be entered in to.

The Society

Was established at the Water Research Commission (WRC), Pretoria, South Africa on the 25th of May 2012.

Is a registered Non-Profit Organsation as of 26 September 2023 (297-447 NPO).

Is a Voluntary Association (VA) in terms of the NSP Act and is registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
